National Transport Authority (NTSA) has acquired a data enterprise centre for real-time road safety and transport management.
In a press release sent to newsrooms on Thursday, June 23, NTSA said the move is part of the digital transformation strategy and service reform agenda, aimed at delivering high-quality services.
The authority will use the centre to improve customer service excellence and aid system availability, better speeds, efficiency and reliability.

The regulator said the centre will ensure quality services are issued to clients and motorists by ensuring data-driven road transport and safety management.
In June 2021, the Authority deployed the revamped Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) in response to client service demands, security and technological advancements.
NTSA is keen on eliminating some reckless behaviours by stakeholders including passengers and drivers.
The authority recently listed road traffic rules and regulations to be observed by all road users.

In related road safety news, TUKO.co.ke reported that NTSA in June 2022, launched investigations into a case where a reckless driver was caught on camera driving a private car while hanging on the door.
The incident was captured in a viral video that showed the driver boasting of his ‘driving prowess’ through dangerous stunts.
The agency called on the public to be responsible and help tame such vice in the transport sector.
In 2020, a matatu driver was captured in a viral online video driving while hanging from the driver's door.
NTSA confirmed the middle-aged man was arrested and appeared before a Naivasha court on Friday, October 16.
