If you are a driver on Kenyan roads, it is necessary that you familiarise yourself with the KENHA permits portal and the services available on the platform. Some of the crucial permits required for use on the highways under KENHA’s jurisdiction such as exemption permits can be found on this portal. It provides an easy to use step by step guideline on how to apply for the necessary permits depending on what you may need.
The Kenya National Highways Authority was established with the aim of development, rehabilitation, maintenance, and management, under the Kenya Roads Act of 2007. It is responsible for international trunk roads that link centres of international importance as well as roads crossing international boundaries or those terminating at international ports. These roads are categorised in different classes, A, B, and C.

The first step in accessing the KENHA permits portal is signing up. On visiting the KENHA website, you will find a link to the permits portal. Here, you will be required to input some important information to identify you as a user on the portal uniquely. The required data that you should fill upon registration is:
After this, click register to proceed with the application. After providing the required details, you will be required to log in to the email address that you provided to confirm registration. After this, you can log in and access the portal's services. Once you successfully log in, you will land on the main navigation page where you will find past reports by KENHA. To access them, click on the given reports. The left side of the portal will have a panel where all the services offered will be listed. These include:
This tab redirects you to the home screen. On this screen, you can be able to access notices made by KENHA as well as reports that they have published.
From this tab, you are able to view customer details and any application you may have done. It lists them in order, and it is possible to go back to these records at any time in order to view them.
This tab provides access to draft documents, applied documents, verified documents, approved documents, any paid applications pending confirmation as well as already issued permits. You can access these at any time you wish. It is the tab that should be used for any KENHA permits approval concerning exemptions.
