The Illinois Sheriff’s Association has declared that it will provide over $58,000 in college scholarships for the students of Illinois for the 2023-2024 academic year. These scholarships will cover tuition, books, and fees for the students enrolled in full-time education in any certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois, including online learning.
Winnebago County Sheriff, Gary Caruana, will be awarding two scholarships of $500 each to eligible students. These scholarships are open to all students regardless of their race, age, creed, color, sex, or national origin. However, there are some eligibility requirements that students must meet to apply.
The applicants must be permanent residents of Illinois and must use the scholarships for higher education within the State of Illinois. Additionally, students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2023-2024 academic year, excluding the summer session.
Applications for the scholarship can be obtained from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office or on the ISA Website. Students must complete the application form and answer the essay question before submitting all the required documents to the Sheriff’s office in their permanent county of residence. The deadline for application submissions is March 15, 2023, and the applications must be postmarked by this date.
