The unfortunate event took place at Naboua town council along the Mbale Tirinyi road in Budaka District, Uganda.

According to the police, the couple was in a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 when the incident happened, as reported by Monitor.
Their car, registration number UBK 995F, collided with an Isuzu Fuso truck registration number KCX 0710.
Okabe died on the spot while his lover passed away as she was being rushed to the Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.
Traffic police spokesperson, ASP Faridah Nampiima blamed the Isuzu driver for the cause of the accident.
The driver, identified as Jacob was in critical condition at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital while the driver of the Fuso was on the run after causing the accident.
