Ruiru MP Simon King’ara has raised alarm over lack of road furniture on the Thika Superhighway.
He attributed the lack of road signs to increased cases of accidents, especially in Kihunguro.
King’ara also wants the ministry to take steps of improving the status of the Eastern Bypass from Mwihoko junction-Kamakis-Kihunguro and Prison junction.
He said erecting more footbridges, speed bumps, road markings, pedestrians’ crossings and road signs will aid to curb the high number of accidents.
The legislator further sought for the construction of a footbridge at Green Valley Estate and Githunguri Primary Secondary School.
King’ara said several residents have lost their lives along the Eastern Bypass while crossing the busy road.
