The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has flagged a Facebook page named ‘NTSA online cyber’  as fake.
The page has allegedly defrauded motorists by claiming to offer them services.
NTSA has distanced itself from the Facebook page labelling those running it as scammers.
“The Public is advised to be wary of a page ‘NTSA online cyber’ purporting to offer NTSA services. All Licences issued by the Authority should be verified for free via the NTSA Mobile App,” NTSA said.
The authority requested members of the public who have been conned through the pages to report to the nearest police station.
The fake page contains all details similar to those of the NTSA, including numbers that do not match those listed on traffic safety authority websites.
According to the authority, the online page is not authorized to conduct transactions or offer services on its behalf.
NTSA has reminded motorists that all licenses can be checked online for free.
