Cleaning and changing air filters

Most modern vehicles include a paper air-filter element, which should be replaced as recommended by the car manufacturer. Typically, access is gained by removing screws, nuts, or clips and lifting off a cover. An airline can be used to remove some dust. The air-filter element can then be removed and replaced, or the loose dust can be blown away. The wire-mesh air filter can be cleaned in gasoline, then dipped in clean engine oil and reused.
