Two people have been confirmed dead after a building earmarked for demolition by Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) collapsed in Kihunguro area in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The building came down Wednesday morning, trapping tenants who were occupying one end of the premises.
The agency had demolished a section of the building to pave way for the expansion of the Eastern Bypass into a dual carriageway at a cost of Ksh12.5 billion.
Emergency teams were called in to reinforce rescue efforts which are underway even as police cordoned off the property.
