Bill Hanvey is president and CEO of the Auto Care Association, which represents the entire supply chain of the independent automotive aftermarket. Before becoming president and CEO on Dec. 1, 2015, Hanvey served as senior vice president of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) since 2012. At AASA, he advocated for North American parts manufacturers to the auto care industry, federal and state government agencies and the business community. Hanvey has spent his entire 35-plus-year career in the aftermarket.

September was the month of the beginning of the auspicious occasion of Navaratri on 26th, followed by Dussehra and culminating in Diwali on October 24. It witnessed highest wholesale dispatches for inventory building in anticipation of a good festive demand, after two years of the pandemic disruption. On a sequential basis, vehicle dispatches for PVs, 2Ws were less in October when compared to September. Going forward, demand for PVs is expected to remain robust especially in the SUV category. Commercial vehicle and tractor segment are on the positive trajectory. Concern still remains in two wheelers, especially in entry level category.
The company’s main manufacturing plant in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, manufactures 400,000 chips every day and these have already been released into the market. Within the next few months, Polymatech aims to attain its full capacity of manufacturing 1 million chips daily (300 million a year), the company said.
